What our Students Say...

"Our son has been taking lessons with Micah for at least 8 years. He has grown as a musician and gained so much confidence playing guitar. He truly looks forward to his lessons each week with Micah. Micah’s flexibility and willingness to work around Drew’s busy schedule has allowed him to continue lessons this long. WI Academy of Music is a great location for all budding and established musicians!!"

"Micah has a special magic and enthusiasm of inspiring young people to explore music. While he is super knowledgeable and skilled, he also encourages creativity with his students. Both my daughter, and several friends' kids have enjoyed their lesson time with him for years. Thank you, Wisconsin Academy of Music for providing such a welcoming, positive environment for young artists."

"Phenomenal group of dedicated teachers!!! This is a gem of an organization tucked away in suburban Germantown (corner of Mequon & Pilgrim Rds.) Some of metro Milwaukee's best performers/teachers on staff, including: Ben Hans - percussion; Micah Olson - guitar; Johnny Padilla - sax, clarinet, flute; Jean Dorney - piano; Chris Ballman - trumpet; Eric Larsen - trombone & low brass; Carol Meves - flute; Nicole Moritz - piano & voice; Dave Petty - saxophone & clarinet; Linnae Stewart - flute”

"This is by far the best organization I have been to with my son, a trumpet player. The teacher, Chris Ballman, is extremely professional, qualified and accommodating. We have never had any issue with him. My son and I are very fond of him."

"I agree with Jean - faculty is outstanding and some of the best music educators in the area. It is a true joy to teach here. Germantown is so fortunate! HOWEVER, there are a few MORE fantastic teachers she did not mention: Carol Meves, Flute; Lenee Stewert, flute; Dave Petty, Sax and clarinet; Nicole Moritz, piano, voice and violin; Lisa Knies, piano; Ruth Mixdorf, piano. You will not find a more dedicated group of music educators anywhere! Many of these teachers are not only accomplished educators but performers as well!

"Micah is a patient teacher but will push you to be the best guitarist that you can be. His positive words make you feel comfortable and make you want to work harder.” Will, age 11, first year student. “P.S. Micah is cool too 😉 ”

"Riley absolutely loves taking guitar lessons from Micah. Micah is super talented, very patient with kids & always so positive. Riley loves being able to decide what songs he wants to learn each week. I’ve recommended Micah to several friends and neighbors."
Eileen Burke

"Micah makes learning music fun. I remember as a kid taking lessons and getting bored with it really fast. Within just a lesson or two, Micah and I were working on songs that I wanted to learn to play. His explanation of how to improve were simplistic enough to understand and apply right away. If you’re looking for someone that can have fun and teach you guitar at the same time, Micah should be your teacher. He is fantastic."

FAQs

How does billing work? Do you offer any discounts?

At WAM, each teacher runs his or her own studio and collects payment from each family. Students are generally billed monthly with payment due the first lesson of each month. Some teachers offer discounts if billing by semester.

Do I need my own instrument?

It is crucial to have an instrument at home so you can practice in between lessons. If you don’t have one, you will need to buy one or rent from a local music store, both of which are popular options.

I don’t have any experience. Can I still take lessons?

Of course! No experience is necessary to take lessons at WAM! We all have to start somewhere, and our teachers are highly experienced teaching students of all levels – beginners through advanced.

Do you offer make-up lessons if I miss one?

Yes. Make-up lessons are offered as long as a 24-hour notice is given for missed classes.

Can I wait inside during my child’s lesson?

Yes, we have a large waiting room with good social distancing and wifi if you need to catch up on work.

I’m interested. How do I get started?

Great! Simply give us a call at 262-707-7274, or fill out our easy form. Someone from our team will contact you shortly.
